Fall
Everything falls —
Rain, leaves, the centigrade scale
People fall too
In love, in rides
Through cliffs or inside,
From stares to adoration
Hate to desperation
We all fall.
Because everything that falls
Gets broken
And the wounds remain unspoken
What falls but never breaks?
The night.
What breaks but never falls?
The day.
We are all falling
But where?
Falling asleep,
Free-falling,
Falling for someone,
Falling at feet —
And we continue to fall, deep inside
As gravity pulls us to earth,
We fall.
In dreams, in life, ups and downs
Through the woods of eternity,
We walk.
We stumble.
We fall.
