The Prayer Song - Sameer Parmar (Illustration)
I wish, hope, and pray,

You learn to pull the chain to halt the barrage of the intrusive thoughts and
You learn to go gentle on your forehead and ease the frown your brows wear and
You learn to flatten the peaks of anxiety you lug on your shoulders daily and
You learn to push down the age-old lump you have been holding in your throat and
You learn to bring sound to your world which now seems a deserted tomb and
You learn to let your neck droop before it stiffens with resistance and
You learn to quell the embers that still seethe in the chambers of your heart and
You learn to command your gut to stop pounding it's ammunition and
You learn to feel the ground under your feet which has only felt like a sullen bog.

That is all.
